A 5% pension rehabilitation surcharge equivalent to
$0.19 per hour has been deducted from wages pursuant to
Article 12 of the negotiated collective bargaining
agreement bringing the wage increase to $0.31 until the
surcharge is lifted (tentatively before November 2012).
**In addition to the $0.25 allocation to pension, $0.25
has been deducted from health/welfare and added to
pension.

MARBA
RATIFIES THREE YEAR AGREEMENT (2010-13) with LABORERS
and OPERATORS
A
three-year agreement was reached with economics of
$1.75, $1.80, and $1.85, retroactive to June 1, 2010.
There were work rule changes which included overtime
(Monday-Friday double time after 12 hours and double
time after 10 hours on Saturday), key man and access to
premises. Economics are retroactive to June
1, 2010, however, double time provisions are only
effective as of the Ratification date of July 23, 2010.

OPERATING ENGINEERS LOCAL 150 WAGE PACKAGE ALLOCATIONS
The parties
concluded a three-year agreement with economics of 3.25% per year, retroactive to June 1, 2010. The
threshold for the requirement of oilers for hydraulic
excavators was increased to 175,000 pounds in both the
building and heavy, highway, and underground agreement.

PLUMBERS LOCAL 130
A new collective bargaining agreement was
ratified on August 3 between the Plumbing Contractors
Association of Chicago and Cook County and Plumber’s
Union Local 130, U.A. This is a three year agreement
with the following wage adjustments:
Year 1:
3.25% ($2.05) Year 2: 3.25% ($2.15) Year 3:
3:25 %
($2.20)
These
pay rates are not retro-active. They began on August 1,
2010. In addition, the entire increase for this year
will be put into the funds.

Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters
(Cook, Lake, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, McHenry, Will &
Grundy)
MARBA and the
Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters reached a
four-year agreement with economics of $2.00, $2.00,
$2.10 and $2.20. The increases in the first two
years will be allocated to the pension and health and
welfare funds. There were several work rule
changes in subcontracting, hours of work, shift work,
settlement of disputes and Most Favored Nations.
