UCA's Safety Committee has posted the Work Zone Traffic Control from IDOT-Chapter 55 so you and your crew have easy access to it:

Work Zone Traffic Control from IDOT- Ch. 55

Members have asked which standard takes precedence: IDOT or MUTCD?

The best answer is that contractors are only responsible to follow the plans and specifications in your contract. If the contractor is contracted to follow the IDOT Traffic Control Plan, then the MUTCD should not matter. Contractors are warned not to admit MUTCD is the custom or industry practice- this can lead to problems. Contractors always have the recourse to send IDOT a Request for Information (RFI) asking for clarification about which standard to follow.
